All the Key Elements to a Successful Wedding Business

Andy & Angie Wood of A&A Photography are a husband & wife team here in Colorado. Although they have a studio for portraits their primary business is wedding photography traveling all over Colorado and other parts of the country. They are master class & platform speakers for WPPI in Las Vegas, they spent 2 years teaching at their local community college and recently launched their own unique set of workshops here in Colorado. They have received over 50 accolades of excellence from the WPPI program and they are active in the Thirst Relief program giving their time as mentors.

In this wedding workshop Andy & Angie Wood will be giving their history as a
photography company. They will discuss some of their philosophies regarding wedding photography and their business including how they work with their couples from the initial meeting to delivering the final products. Next they will share a key element to their business, bridal portraits. Andy & Angie Wood have made bridal portraits a large part of their business and here they will share some of their work. These are separate sessions from the wedding day and usually done before the wedding. Andy & Angie have fallen in love with these sessions doing many of them in their studio. Along with the photography they will talk about the "who", "what", "when", "why" & "how" of bridal portraits and how they are incorporating their unique style with some elegant studio work. Within their bridal sessions they have also been doing a different type of photography, collodion wet plate.

Collodion Wet Plate is a photography process that dates back to the beginning of photography. It was used during the civil war and many famous photos that we know today were taken with this type of photography including Abraham Lincoln on the $5 bill and Penny. For the last year A&A Photography has been using this process with their own custom made 8 x 10 large format camera and lens. In this segment of the class they will discuss how they have incorporated this process into their business, show off samples of their work and give a demo (through pictures or video) on the process.

A little about Andy & Angie . . .

Andy & Angie Wood are a husband & wife photography team in Littleton, Colorado. They began their journey almost 6 years ago with the beginning of their business the creation of their studio. Although photographing weddings is their primary business they operate a studio where they do children's portraits, family portraits, corporate photography and high school senior photography. They have traveled through the country and outside the country including Mexico photographing weddings.

Together Andy & Angie have over 50 awards of excellence, 4 years of teaching photography and other business related topics. They have been active in their photographic community including teaching photography classes at their local community college. Over the last few years the two started speaking at the largest photography convention in Las Vegas, WPPI. Speaking on such topics as working with a spouse, web presence, search engine optimization and photography itself they have also found a love
for teaching!
