Cheryl Opperman is a nationally acclaimed nature photographer who has traveled to every continent in the world capturing spectacular images of nature, wildlife, and indigenous cultures. Widely published, her photographs have appeared in print, on the web, on television, and in solo and group exhibits, resulting in a list of clients or credits which include The American Humane Association, Overseas Adventure Travel, The Denver Post, Apple, Ducks Unlimited, the National Geographic Society, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
Cheryl’s esthetic compositions, artistic use of light, and exquisite detail have been honored with several prestigious awards from organizations including The Earth Day Network, Nature’s Best Photography, the International Photography Awards, and the National Wildlife Federation. Join Jonathan Betz, M.Photog., Cr., CPP for three hours of elevating your lighting for portraiture. He will present the various modifiers he uses for both studio and outdoor portraits, show samples of his work using each, and finish each section with live demonstration of that modifier.
During the class, attendees will gain confidence in identifying and applying the lighting patterns most common to portrait sessions through instruction and live demonstration . Attendees will leave this class ready to apply new levels of off-camera lighting to their own portrait work.

Jonathan earned his Masters of Photography Degree (M.Photog.) in 2019; Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) in 2015; and Craftsman Degree (Cr.Photog.) in 2023, all conferred by The Professional Photographers of America. His work has been recognized with honors at the national and international level, most recently receiving the Platinum Medal and earning highest honors with a Grand Imaging Award. Jonathan served five terms as the President of the Professional Photographers Guild of Colorado Springs. He has served on the Board of Directors for state and regional professional photography organizations. He's committed to lifelong learning and continually seeks to elevate his craft through professional training, education, and teaching opportunities to help younger photographers refine their skills and businesses.

Ready to switch into video mode and capture the action on camera? Consider this your crash course on everything photographers need to know before, during and after you hit that red record button. Three, two, one, action!
In this session, we’ll walk through the start to finish process crafting videos as a filmmaker and solo storyteller. It all starts with pre-production and planning, to begin shifting your mindset from stills to motion. We’ll cover key camera settings and specialty tools to get dialed in for video. Then we’ll add audio to the mix. We’ll learn to listen for sound, whether conducting interviews, capturing natural sounds or filming your selfie.
Participants will preview various formats for video, and learn how to craft stories with intention. We’ll walk through the post-production workflow, so you can see how everything comes together in the edit. Photographers, if you’re ready to get started with video, this workshop is for you!

The Colorado Dinner Party is a great time get dressed up! This year's theme is "Denim & Diamonds" and will be a wonderful even to network at as well as make some new friends and memories. The dinner menu will be updated closer to the event and does require payment prior to our cut off date. Plus one's are welcome with paid ticket to dinner. We can't wait to see you there!
